Maureen Adamson

Presenter: Maureen Adamson

This popular program is a solid, well-rounded introduction for those who feel drawn to meditation as an ongoing spiritual discipline. Increase awareness of the history, types and current resurgence of interest in forms of meditation from the Christian tradition. This day provides a non-denominational introduction into the deeper waters of Christian spirituality.

Rev. Dr. Craig Higgins
of Trinity Presbyterian in Harrison, NY often drops in to help facilitate the class as his schedule permits.
Chairs and some cushions will be provided. Bring your sitting cushion / blanket if you use one. Wear comfortable, warm clothing as body temperature can drop during meditation. Includes coffee, tea, and and continental breakfast in the morning, and a light buffet lunch. Books will be available at cost for purchase.

From past participants...

"This introductory workshop was the clearest presentation of contemplative prayer I'd ever encountered. I plan to stick with this for the rest of my life!"

"As a practitioner herself, Maureen is open and willing to share her own personal experiences with meditation and Centering Prayer with humor and understanding to encourage her students."

"This meditation practice has made me very aware that God is in control, that He is guiding me and that He is always with me."

"This course changed my life."

Maureen Adamson, course developer and presenter, has been practicing meditation and receiving meditation training in different practices since her early 20's. Her own teaching is rooted in Christian mysticism. Along with Craig Higgins, she has taught this highly popular course at Trinity Presbyterian Church and Wainwright House. Maureen attends intensive meditation retreats at St. Benedicts Trappist Monastery in Colorado and leads a local meditation group.
