The practice of meditation is central to the mission of Wainwright House. Encouraging regular meditation practice is one of the ways we serve the community. We offer meditation practice for all levels in different traditions.

MINDFULNESS & MEDITATION CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

Meditation Classes:  $5 drop in fee 

Our 30-minute meditation classes reinforce the simple steps of this proven, ancient practice whether you’re brand new to meditation or a seasoned sitter. By learning how to pay attention to your breath and thoughts on the meditation cushion, you’re better able to stay present and connected in everyday life no matter what happens to come your way.  This class gives you the tools and guidance to start or deepen a meditation practice along with the support and energy that comes from meditating regularly in a group setting.  The 15-20 minute meditation session is bookended by instruction and an opportunity to ask questions and receive clarification on your practice.

Mondays

Mindfulness Meditation: 10:45-11:15AM -(Moving to 12:30-1:00 beginning June 18) Beth 

Mindfulness Meditation :7:30-8:00PM - Jackie

Learn to quiet your mind, tune into your senses and be present to what’s happening moment by moment instead of getting lost in the storyline of your thoughts. Through mindfulness exercises and meditation instruction you will gain a clearer awareness of your thoughts and emotions. Open to all.

Wednesdays

Heartfulness Meditation: 12:30-1:00pm- Mary Lynn (begins week of May 7)

Experience what happens when you let your body breathe, bring your attention to your heart, and feel. Heartfulness offers a simple, effective method of meditation that is open to all.

Fridays

Guided Meditation: 10:45-11:15am- Dawn (begins week of May 7)

This meditation offers a combination of instruction, guided meditation, and body centered inquiry. In honor of Wainwright's mission there is an emphasis on compassionate awareness and positive psychology. Open to all.

Saturdays 

Mindfulness Meditation 10:00-10:30AM - Jackie

Sundays

Family Meditation: 5:45-6:15 - Julie 

5/6, 5/20, 6/3, 6/10, 7/1, 7/8, 7/15, 7/22, 7/29, 8/26

This class is specifically designed for families! Mindfulness begins with learning to pause, listen deeply to ourselves, and to respond to each other with love and compassion. In family meditation, we will discover how to stay connected as a family in our increasingly distracted, chaotic and busy world. We will learn to slow down, take a breath, and develop a home meditation practice that works for adults and kids ages 8 and up.
