From breath to posture, from exercise to nutrition, from habitual ways of thinking (and behaving) to creating new winning habits– all these topics are addressed in this exciting series. You don’t HAVE to live with stress, or with addiction, or with a sense of hopelessness and lethargy. Learn the tools that you can practice daily to overcome any limitations you feel in your life. All workshops run for 1.5 hours.

About The Event
STRESS REDUCTION WITH MINDFULNESS MEDITATION
Stress can be described as a negative mental state that we may get stuck in due to adverse life circumstances or the perception of adverse circumstances. This negative mental state carries a lot of energy and is capable of overpowering our lives if not addressed. Fortunately, there is now a huge body of medical and neuroscientific research that demonstrates how we can work through this by incorporating a regular practice of mindfulness meditation and without resorting to pharmaceuticals. The practice includes simple breathing techniques that can activate the relaxation response in the body, thereby alleviating the ravages caused by excess stress hormones. Furthermore, mindfulness and meditation techniques help us to build the ‘muscle of discernment’ – which sheds light on situations in life that need skillful action versus those that need acceptance, patience or a gentle letting go.
In this workshop we will focus on various types of breath-based practices to relieve stress, build a practice of daily meditation, and also learn the art of skillful discernment. We work with stress on three levels: the body, the mind and the heart – in order to bring about holistic healing to whole system.
FUTURE LECTURE TOPICS INCLUDE:
