Service Description

Tai chi is an internal art, which stresses the integration and balance of mind and body. This tai chi class is presented in an easy to learn and accesible format. Participants will learn a routine of 12 movements. Performing tai chi can inspire and uplift one's body-mind-spirit, as well as promote inner health and feelings of well being. About John: John completed a M.A. in Exercise Physiology and began his career with AT&T’s employee wellness program leading exercise and facilitating health improvement courses. His experience broadened to include cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation with United Hospital and Burke Rehabilitation Center, and later weight loss guidance with the women’s fitness boutique ‘Healthy Fit’ - Mamaroneck.  Certified by The Tai Chi for Health Institute-Australia, John began teaching Tai Chi for a New York State Office for the Aging program in 2018 to improve fear of falling and other balance outcomes at Senior Centers where its format was taught.   John instructs 8 different strength and balance groups among 6 Senior Centers,  plus 3 tai chi groups, most excitedly - Wainwright House!
