Fonrose Cottage Facelift

Colonel and Mrs. Wainwright had only one child, a daughter named Fonrose. Fonrose married Philip Condict and lived in what is now known as Fonrose House until her death in 1983 at age 90. With no children of her own, she wanted to find a charitable and worthwhile purpose for WH as a memorial to her parents. In 1951, she created Wainwright House,  with the belief that there should be a place under one roof where people from all backgrounds and beliefs and even no beliefs at all--could aspire to have a deeper understanding of others. ​

Fonrose Cottage, to the left of the mansion, is an important asset - but it hasn't been updated in 40 years! That's where you come in. We need to act quickly to refurbish the cottage this winter, so it can better contribute to our programming and retreats in 2024 and beyond. First up: a big clean out, fresh interior paint, and replacement of beds & linens. After that: renovation of the very outdated kitchen, landscaping and painting of the exterior.  

Refursbishment Donors of $100 or more will be recognized on a plaque in the foyer of Fonrose House.
