Watercolor For Beginners

This class is for the beginner watercolorist. We will discuss watercolor’s unique properties and approach including its strengths and limits. We will learn and practice the basic skills of painting wet into wet, layering paint, flat washes and dry brush. Students will gain knowledge of basic color theory, drawing, as well as making use of value to make successful paintings. We will work both indoors and outdoors if weather allows. Students will work on and bring home a completed landscape watercolor.

ABOUT JACKIE MEIER

Meier attended Boston College and received a BA in economics and later earned an MFA in painting from Pratt Institute. Meier had numerous solo shows at New York galleries including Nancy Margolis, Janet Kurnatowski and Kenise Barnes Fine Art.
