Service Description

Qi Gong (pronounced CHEE Gung) is an ancient Chinese method of gentle exercise and mindfulness that can be performed by just about anyone. The playful practice includes Movement, Breath work, Static Poses, Visualization and Sounds which focus on optimal health, fitness and well-being, and change seasonally to reflect the body’s needs during different times of year in accordance with each season of the year: spring, early Summer, late summer, fall and winter (five seasons corresponding to the five traditional Chinese medicine energy reservoirs in the body). ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Dana McAvity has been practicing and studying QiGong for 14 years.  She received her teaching certification from Lee Holden and has also studied intensively with various Masters, including Yang Yang, Mingtong Gu, Robert Peng, and Kenneth Cohen. She serves on the boards of the Global Lyme Alliance and the Hyde School in Bath, Maine.
