About the Event
The Nia Technique is a dance-fitness class that empowers people at all fitness levels to step into a positive relationship with their bodies and movement. Nia blends martial arts, healing arts, and dance arts to create a high- powered, whole body and holistic workout that no other isolated exercise technique can match. Part choreographed and part free form, Nia delivers a solid aerobic workout, with each experience adaptable to individual needs and abilities. Nia classes are generally practiced barefoot to soul -stirring music that motivates every part of you to move! Step into your own joyful journey with Nia, and positively shape the way you feel, look, think, and live. No experience with dance or movement classes necessary.

Barbara is a former Human Resources Executive for Transamerica in New York. She is a certified Brown Belt Nia Instructor, and currently teaches at the Connecticut Dance Center in Stamford and the YMCA of New Canaan, Ct.
