About the Event
Introduction to Jewish Mysticism with Rabbi Daniel Gropper. Â
As with most religions, Judaism has a stream that is highly mystical in nature – that realizes that God is to be found everywhere, including the ordinary and the physical. This state of mind can elevate our spirits, helping us to grow in awareness and mindfulness. In this course we will study primary source material and will engage in various contemplative practices to understand the importance of these sophisticated spiritual systems for our everyday lives.
DATES: THURSDAYS, OCT 24, NOV 7, NOV 14
Rabbi Daniel Gropper serves as the spiritual leader at Community Synagogue of Rye. He was ordained from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 1998 and is a graduate of the Clergy Leadership Program of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality.Â
