About the Event
We can never have enough self healing tools when facing life's challenges. In this healing arts workshop, you will learn powerful Qigong exercises for everyday living, Five Element Shiatsu meridians self care, pressure points, movement as medicine and the Chinese Calligraphy as a healing modality. These self healing tools help us to connect with the source of energy from nature’s flow, to keep us centered and rooted while the turbulence of the external world shakes our grounds. Through practice and cultivation, we can build up our internal strength and maintain vibrant health and wellbeing. We hope this learning will help you tap into the most powerful healing source that resides deeply in YOU.

About the Instructors:Â
Nini Melvin has been a teacher and practitioner of Eastern Healing Arts (including shiatsu) for close to four decades. Nini began her shiatsu training in 1981, at the Ohashi Institute in NYC, where she taught for 10 years and became a senior instructor. She has taught and trained teachers internationally and locally since 1989. Nini was core faculty at Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, studied and practiced aquatic bodywork and is a Reiki Master. Nini’s dance background includes a Master’s degree in Dance Education from Temple University, in Philadelphia. Learn more: www. ninimelvin.com
Lorelei Chang is a qigong teacher, modern dance artist, and a Chinese calligrapher who has dedicated her life time to study these disciplines for nearly 40 years. Lorelei and her twin sister, Mai Nakanishi are world-class artists who pioneered combining Chinese calligraphy and modern dance with Qigong. They have performed internationally including China, Japan, New Zealand, Belgium and India. She currently teaches Qigong, Yoga and dance to students ages 5 to 85. In 2012, she won a gold medal for the 24-form Taiji Quan and a silver medal for 42-form Taiji Quan during the International Wushu Competition in Connecticut. She is the founder and artistic director of dancEnlight and a board member of the National Qigong Association. She has been teaching and performing at the National Qigong Association annual conference since 2015. Recently, Lorelei taught at the Quantum Qi conference along with Daisy Lee, Master Li Jun Feng, Lee Holden at Kripalu, and Super Qi Summit with Robert Peng, Ken Cohen and a few others at Omega Institute. Lorelei is a certified instructor of Radiant Lotus Women’s Qigong founded by Daisy Lee. She studied TCM with Lonny Jarrett. Lorelei is currently studying Five Element meridian Shiatsu with Nini Melvin and thrilled to open my Shiatsu practice. Learn more: dancenlight.org
