Week 1: Intro
Being a teen can be challenging, emotionally stressful and confusing. You’re trying to figure out who you are and how you fit in the world. The problem is, we’ve defined ourselves from the outside in, instead of the inside out. Social media has magnified an image that doesn’t necessarily reflect how kids are actually feeling, further creating a sense inadequacy. Most kids are really struggling, but we’ve created a culture that perpetuates a false sense of self.
By exploring the energetic system, also called the chakras, we can understand what makes us feel whole and what has us feeling off kilter. This class is not for us to become experts in the chakras, but to understand what each of them are and how they impact how we feel about ourselves.
We are complex beings, made of body, mind and spirit. It’s important to incorporate all aspects of ourselves in whatever way feels authentic to us individually. We are all different, yet want the same thing, which is to feel comfortable and confident in our own skin. It takes time to understand who we are and what we want.
In this course, we will explore all aspects of who we are, earning to live from the inside out, instead of defining who we are from the outside in.
Week 2: First Chakra (root, grounding)
In week 2 we’ll explore the root chakra and how it applies to your life. How do we feel safe in the world? What grounds us? What parts of the body does the first chakra have an impact? What rituals or traditions do you look forward to in your family? Are you able to stand up for yourself? If not, what is preventing you from doing so?
Week 3: Second Chakra (relationships, control)
In week 3 we’ll explore the 2nd chakra and how it applies to your life. What parts of the body does this chakra impact? Are your relationships and friendships authentic? How can we handle anxiety and feelings of being out of control? How can you empower yourself by the choices you make in your life? What choices disempower you? What does it mean and how would it impact your life if you could set healthy boundaries in your relationships?
Week 4: Third Chakra (sense of self)
In week 4, we’ll explore the third chakra and how it applies to your life. What parts of the body does this chakra impact? How do you feel about yourself? Are you able to express yourself authentically? How can you learn to talk to yourself like you would a good friend?
Week 5: Forth Chakra (heart)
In week 5, we’ll explore the forth chakra and how it applies to your life. What parts of the body does this chakra impact? What does it mean to live life from your heart? How would it impact your life if you had more compassion for yourself and those around you?
Week 6: Fifth Chakra (throat)
In week 6, we’ll explore the sixth chakra and how it applies to your life. What parts of the body does this chakra impact? Is it difficult for you to express yourself authentically? How can we start to speak more from our heart? How would it impact your friendships?
Week 7: Sixth Chakra (third eye)
In week 7, we’ll explore the sixth chakra and how it impacts your life. What part of the body does this chakra impact? How can we live our lives from a place of trust and internal intuition? What blocks us from trusting our intuition? What is intuition and how does it manifest in your body?
Week 8: 7th Chakra (crown)
In week 8, we’ll explore the seventh chakra and how it impacts your life. What part of the body does this chakra impact? What does it mean when we connect with universal life force energy? Is there a force greater than ourselves that is available to us? How can we learn to use this energy? What is manifesting? How can we connect to our higher self and a realm of abundance?
