Using breath and the voice, we will open our heart and quiet our minds through meditative and repetitive chant.Â
Goal of the Series:Â
- To provide a meditative experience through chant/song.
- To connect participants to their own souls and those of others through use of voice and breath.
Cantor Melanie Cooperman serves Community Synagogue of Rye. A native of Minneapolis, she was ordained as a Cantor in 2011 from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (in New York. She earned Bachelor and Masters Degrees in music from the University of Minnesota.Â
Cantor Cooperman recently completed The Institute for Jewish Spirituality Clergy Leadership Program that included singing as spiritual practice, yoga, meditation and text study. She seeks to create meaningful experiences and invite others to explore their inner life to find healing and wholeness.
